All the results have been tallied, and our winning entry is Pope Leo Messi (initials NB). This entry scored 20 points: 7 for being one round off on the number of voting rounds, 4 points for having the correct candidate as 7th choice, and 9 points for listing Leo as most likely name. No points for continent (not a single one of our 68 participants predicted a Pope from North America – even Antarctica had a guess).
Kathy S (KS), Pizzaballa (TR), and PopeSwiftGP (GP) tied for second with 17 points. A few people had negative scores for grossly overestimating the number of rounds it would take to elect a Pope and not obtaining other points. Last place went to Peachie’s Pope (EFC) with an impressive -20.
